5 Phenomenal Miami Cocktails

Miami has an air of tropical refinement defined by fancy nightclubs, highrise hotels, cutting-edge food and artsy neighborhoods. It also has some of the best cocktails we’ve ever enjoyed (and we’ve enjoyed a lot of cocktails). Here are five of our favorites from Miami.

The Broken Shaker: Fruit & Pine Old Fashioned

The Broken Shaker is one of the best mixology destinations in the world and was named Tales of Cocktail’s Best American Hotel Bar. Located in a small shack in the back of a hostel, it serves up an American classic—the Old Fashioned—with a bit of Miami zest adding dried stone fruit, sherry and walnut bitters.

Radio South Beach: The London Eye

A pool table and Christmas lights that belong at a dive bar; leather couches and lounge chairs that belong at an upscale log cabin: Radio South Beach has a decidedly out-of-Miami look and an out-of-this-world drinks list.  Start with the London Eye—Bombay gin, pineapple with green tea, green chartreuse and aromatics.

Lou’s Beer Garden: Big Lou’s Hawaiian Punch

Craft beer, dynamite seafood and a renowned chef’s table aren’t the only things that this Mid-Beach tropical gastropub has to offer. Its cocktail list is strong. We love Big Lou’s Hawaiian Punch, which comes with Beefeater’s, Kronan Swedish Punsch, orange and lemon juice and muddled mint.

Blackbird Ordinary: La Guayabera

A swanky lounge and club just across the water in Downtown Miami, Blackbird Ordinary whips up a slew of creative cocktails. Keeping things sweet and fruity, because it’s tropical and you’re on vacation, the La Guayabera comes with Zacapa rum, tempus fugit spirits creme de cacao, frangelico, angostura bitters, and bittercube cherry bark vanilla bitters.

Prohibition Speakeasy Miami: Mary Pickford

Crystal chandeliers, old-school telephones hanging on hooks, saxophones and paintings of flappers adorning the walls all combine to make Prohibition truly feel straight out of the 1920s. Classic, like their style, the Mary Pickford blends Bacardi, maraschino, pineapple juice and grenadine for a blend of Shirley Temple and Caribbean flavor.
