When finding the best food to try in Miami Beach, one must consider all that this city has to offer. An ocean full of fresh seafood, diverse Hispanic and Caribbean cultures populating the area, and a rich culinary scene influences the food and how it is prepared. Discover how different restaurants take Miami Beach’s many attributes and expose them through food.

Quinn’s Steak, Seafood & Rawbar

Coming into his eleventh year running the highly touted restaurant Quinn’s, executive chef and owner Gerry Quinn maintains a menu full of fresh local seafood prepared to satisfy patron’s cravings and stimulate their imaginations. An ensemble of thoughtfully prepared oysters, crabs and fish delivered straight from the ocean make Quinn’s some of the best food to try in Miami Beach.

Located at the Park Central Hotel— an art deco Miami classic, with palm trees for shoulders and blue neon lights glowing in the Floridian night— Quinn’s offers an experiential dining atmosphere. Nightly live music and seating in the spacious dining room or breezy terrace pair wonderfully with the city and food. Some of Quinn’s favorites include: wasabi & ginger crusted ahi tuna, island spiced grouper with lobster mashed potatoes and jumbo king crab legs.

11th Street Diner

In 1992, a 44-year-old dining car in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania was taken apart and transported to Florida. The restaurant’s Art Deco style provides local flare for the consumption of some of the best food to try in Miami Beach. The silver car now operates with an outdoor patio and a classic diner interior— leather stools, full bar and one of the most beloved menus in Miami.

The menu’s classic American diner items— burgers, sandwiches and breakfast— include an array of international and cultural influences. Seafood appears in the form of fresh mahi, salmon and fried calamari. Southern comfort can be found with their fried chicken wings and waffles. 11th Street chefs reach even further south in offering Argentinean skirt steak with tomato garlic relish, a dish featured on the popular Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
